Fitness Circuit Training
Fitness Circuit Training Essentials.
Fitness circuit training is in my opinion the
very best kind of fitness training for everyone,
bar serious bodybuiders and powerlifters.
Basically, it involves a combination of aerobic
and resistance training. Aerobics refering to
running, jogging, power-walking, swimming,
cycling, actual aerobics or other similar
activities.
And resistance training refering basically to
weight training, push-ups, chins, abdominal
crunches etc.
Fitness circuit training is favoured to a large
extent by professional sports-people, especially
tennis and football players.
But, it is also an excellent training methodology
for anyone who wants to improve their overall fitness
levels and burn fat. It is also ideal for those who
want to increase their strength through weight
training while maintaining their speed, agility and
slimness.
Another advantage is that it tends to be more
enjoyable and exhilarating than other forms of
exercise, releasing endorphins, or so-called ‘happy
hormones’, making you feel better and distracting
your mind from negative thoughts.
If you are part of the small group of people that
want bulk and size [ ie, bodybuilders ], then fitness
circuit training isn’t for you and you can stop reading
now…
So, assuming you’re still here [!], here’s my advice on
how to get the very most from your fitness circuit
training:
Do a short warm up – some light jogging and stretching
exercises. Do not rush straight in.
Keep it simple [ always better ] and keep workouts short
[ between 20 - 45 minutes, depending on your objectives
and current fitness levels ] and intense.
Limit the amount of exercises – use simple dumb-bells
for resistance exercises, and combine these with some
sprints or aerobics.
Do what feels right for you – you have to enjoy the
workouts, at least a little bit, otherwise, it’ll be
very difficult to find the motivation to keep training.
Also, it is essential to combine your fitness circuit
training routine with the proper diet and nutrition
program. A poor diet will surely sabotage your efforts.
Finally, don’t feel that you have to do your aerobic and
resistance training in the same session – yes, this is the
usual way to do it, but again, do what works for you.
So, get out there and get started with your fitness circuit
training – you could see some great results!
